LATEST NEWS & EVENTS

In September, CTSA attended a parliamentary debate tournament based in NYC! The event was extremely fun and memorable. The day was filled with boba, games, an unlimited supply of pizza and debating! The results of the tournament were a sweep—with the top three speaker awards going to our participants!

In September, members of CTSA ran multiple fundraisers (which included many side quests) in the New Haven area and were extremely successful! All of the proceeds went directly to the September Tournament Invitational!

On August 19th, CT Speech & Action hosted their first tournament/event in preparation for the first year for CTSA. We were joined by our wonderful judges, including an experienced attorney, a rotary representative, a accomplished speech coach, and a debate alumni. We are extremely fortunate to have our judges volunteer their time to empower our youth.

About CTSA Educational Discourse

Our Education Discourse team prioritizes two main values: accessibility and diversity. Diversity manifests through hosting tournaments or organize trips to unaffiliated competitions wherein students are provided the opportunity to attend fully funded tournaments once every 2 months hosted by other institutions or groups, including debate, model UN, and mock trial.

In addition, we also occasionally host our own tournaments for students to develop their public speaking skills.

In September, CT Speech & Action brought students from all over CT to participate in a tournament based in NY. The results were outstanding with all top three speakers from our participants!

About CTSA Social Action

The Social Advocacy Branch connects the ideas discussed within Educational Discourse tournaments to social action. This branch addresses social issues, advocates for pathetic change, and engages in community-oriented initiatives through semester based projects. These social action semesters would include events, speakers, or publications.
